Being with people in person after the lockdowns in 2020 was so refreshing. Most often I met with people outside and in this specific case, I was in Nanoose Bay taking a walk in Schooner Cove, a popular divers spot on the Eastern shores of Vancouver Island. This is on Snaw-Naw-As Le Lum First Nation and Coast Salish land.
It was an absolute miserable day but that’s what good company and gear are for. Our view across the horizon was Amelia Island. I painted what I imagine it would have looked like on an idyllic Pacific Northwest summer day. I call it ‘Character Point’ based on the wonderful individuals I got to enjoy this view with that day.
This original oil painting is 24w x 20h x 1.5d and will be shipped on the stretched canvas frame
